Drinking tea

I’m looking at you. The mom who forgets to eat lunch until 2 PM and they are STARVING so they eat everything in sight. I get it. I have been there.

Despite all of the nonsense out there, eating consistently has been proven to be the BEST way to:

  1. Curb cravings
  2. Have lasting, sustained energy
  3. Eliminate mindless snacking
  4. To eat intuitively

If you’re not already on the lunch bandwagon, it’s time to hop on! Because whatever your goal is, eating lunch will help you achieve it, I promise.

OK, so this is all good in theory, but how can you actually carve out time to sit and eat lunch during your busy day. Here are my top tips:

  1. As much as it’s not ideal, eating while doing something is still better than not eating at all. So if you need to multitask while eating lunch, it will be ok.
  2. Try prepping components ahead of time to make getting lunch ready easier and faster. This can look different from person to person but here are a few ideas: wash and slice veggies for a salad, cook grains for a power bowl, assemble your sandwich the night before, cook bacon ahead of time for a BLT sandwich. Do what will work for you.
  3. Embrace the trend of snack plates. It’s simple, you put together a bunch of snack foods on a plate and enjoy! Be sure to include a protein and fat source to give the meal a boost on the satiety scale.
  4. If all else fails, it’s ok to opt for a frozen option. (Full transparency, for my current season of life, this has been my lunch option MOST of the time). It’s ok. Look for options that include protein and fiber to help make it satisfying.

So, feel a little bit better about your lunch routine? Good, my job here is done. 🙂
